Editorial Assistant
Internship
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic editorial assistant to work for Water Journal. Working remotely with the editor-in-chief, you will assist him in all aspects of the magazine. The job will involve research, forward planning, writing, and generating ideas relevant to both print and digital stories, alongside important everyday tasks that require strong administrative skills.
The ideal candidate will be extremely organised, efficient, proactive, and able to juggle a demanding and diverse workload in a confident and professional manner. Other requirements are: Computer literacy, a precise eye for detail, an ability to meet deadlines under pressure, and a strong grasp on the vision and ethos of Water Journal. This is an entry-level position, offering a chance to work with the entire breadth of Water Journal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Researching, fact checking copy, proof reading, collating information, and writing
Coordinating imagery
Help in organisation of shoots and stories where relevant
Help in overseeing flat plans and production schedules
Help in supporting subbing and design teams
Building and maintaining relationships with freelance writers, photographers, illustrators, and PR’s
REQUIREMENTS
Strong writing and research skills
Confidence in phone manner and verbal communication
Computer skills including use of Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign
Great time management, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines
Keen eye for detail
Must have a solid understanding of Water Journal and its vision and ethos
